I visited the beautiful Brookgreen Gardens this weekend and thanks to my employer I’ll get to go anytime I’d like for the entire year – my co-workers and I were gifted with a family membership! I jumped for joy when I was told…I’m in love with those stunning gardens and feel closer to God and nature every time I go.
This gorgeous sculpture garden and wildlife preserve, located just south of Murrells Inlet, stretches for more than nine acres. It was founded in 1931 by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington. It’s one of America’s premier gardens and one of a few select places in the United States that has earned accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It’s also designated as a National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For all the details, go to brookgreen.org – you can read all about its history and the many programs offered.
I’ve been twice since I moved to the Grand Strand last August and upon every visit I feel drawn to the Poetry Garden (and the Gift Shop)! I have such a busy schedule, I sometimes forget how important it is to reconnect with the Universe, God, nature…and simply be quiet and experience the beauty that surrounds me. Brookgreen is one of the few places where I feel completely at peace. I’m incredibly grateful I’ll get to enjoy these magnificent gardens all year. Thank you, Easy Radio!!!
