The kitchen is my favorite room in the house. I do many things in the kitchen…create yummy, healthy meals, pay the bills, listen to music, wash and dry my clothes, talk on the phone and gaze out of the window onto my garden. I love having a window over the sink…just like back home in Mama and Daddy’s kitchen.
My Myrtle Beach kitchen is not fancy, but I think I’ve made it look cute. I love whimsical, folksy art and hang fun things on the walls too, such as an old wash board my granddad gave me years ago, frilly aprons and a gigantic whisk! I also show off my collection of pitchers and tea pots in the heart of my home.
One of my favorite things to do is cook a fabulous meal while drinking good wine and listening to jazz or classical music. Irwin, my little tiger, usually finds his perch on the dining room table – and yes, I allow him to walk on the counters. Perhaps this is why I’m still single…in any event, my parents spent a lot of time in our old kitchen and I loved watching them cook together. I’m sure that might have something to do with my love affair with my own kitchen! It’s a great place to create – food, dreams and happy memories.
