Mom wants a night of uninterrupted sleep for Mother’s Day, according to SWNS Digital.
Out of 2,000 mother’s surveyed, 43 percent said resting in bed would be the best gift!
Is this true? Or a load of crock?
Whenever I asked my mom what she wanted when I was growing up, she never mentioned sleep. Not once!
Mom normally responded by saying, “Let me think about it.”
More often then not, she didn’t get back with me.
So, I often struggled with what to get her, especially as a kid and teen.
I know now it’s not possible to get a gift that would truly encapsulate my gratitude for her love, care and sacrifices over the years.
I’ve learned some presents might come close, very close, but nothing physical, in my opinion, can showcase the depths of that bond, those feelings.
However, that doesn’t stop me from still trying to get the MOST PERFECT gift ever, every year.
Now though, my focus’ shifted away from simply buying STUFF to gifts that hold more meaning.
I take her on trips and experiences, and I spend more quality time with her.
For example, last year, we held a virtual tea party.
We both fixed up some snacks, whipped up some tea, and dressed for the special occasion!
It’s one of my favorite memories with Mom, and I know I’ll cherish it for years to come.
We’ll probably do the same this year too.
What do YOU want though?
Is it to sleep through the night?
Do you want flowers? Jewelry? Clothes? Skin care products or make-up? Quality time together? Experiences?
Now’s the time to speak up!
From personal experience, I know your kids will really appreciate the hint too!
